theLab Robertson Rosendal, a Cape Dutch guesthouse tucked away in the verdant folds of a Rosendal winefarm, offers cutting-edge technology amid countryside hospitality.

Situated in the Klaasvoogds West region just off the R60, between Robertson and Ashton, theLab Rosendal is under two hours’ drive from Cape Town

Being a smart hotel,  every minimalistic-styled room comes fitted with theLAB room automation system that allow guests to make coffee, turn on the jacuzzi, operate the television, close the blinds, start the shower, and turn on the lights via voice command. Facial recognition and gesture control applications are being developed and implemented, so more functionality features will be rolled out soon.

Guests are welcome to enjoy wine tastings at the on-site winery or could choose to make their way to a few other cellars in the area via the convenient Wine Valley Safari hop-on, hop-off bus that has a stop outside the guest house. Another option is hiring an electric scooter or bicycle to set out on a e-powered adventure.

The Cloud 9 wellness centre has two treatment rooms, a pool, jacuzzi, steam room sauna and a couple’s treatment room with a fireplace where a crackling fire can be laid in winter.

A  green establishment, solar technology heats the water and provides electricity, and guests with e-cars can power up at complimentary charging points. A recycling system ensures that we create as little waste as possible. Guests enjoy wine, beer and drinks in kegs and on tap at the bar, as well as water in reusable glass bottles. Locally roasted coffee is ground on site from bean to cup and the organic vegetable garden provides guests with farm-fresh fare whenever they sit down to a meal.
